Wisconsin: Petitions against State Senator Robert Jauch hits halfway point

Petitioners refused to release any numbers, though.

  1. It appears the Republican effort to recall Sen Jauch is doomed to fail. Not announcing the number of signatures gathered indicates weakness, not success. The half-way point is a time to crow, not cackle.

The strategy outlined in the linked article is flawed. Many people won't make much of an effort to sign a petition. It has to be easy. What works is having petitioners in front of grocery stores, libraries, and athletic events encouraging everyone who goes by to sign the petition.

I do not doubt there are 17.000 eligible adults in his district who would like to see Sen. Jauch recalled. Getting the petition in front of those people is the hard part.
